Troubleshooting Zoom Integration

Possible causes:

  • Pop-up blocker prevented the authorization window from opening
  • Browser security settings blocked the connection
  • Network connectivity issues

Solutions:

  1. Check that pop-ups are allowed for Feather in your browser settings
  2. Try using a different browser
  3. Clear your browser cache and cookies, then try again
  4. Disable any browser extensions that might interfere with OAuth flows

Integration shows as “Disconnected” unexpectedly

Possible causes:

  • Access tokens have expired due to inactivity
  • The Feather Zoom Integration app was removed from your Zoom account
  • Feather Zoom Integration app was updated and requires re-authorization

Solution: Follow the reconnection guide to restore the connection.

”You don’t have permission to connect Zoom”

Possible causes:

  • You are not the organization owner
  • You don’t have can manage integrations permission

Solution: Contact your organization owner or admin to either:

  • Grant you the can manage integrations permission, or
  • Have them connect the Zoom integration themselves

Solution: You must use a Zoom account where you have admin privileges. Contact your Zoom administrator to:

  • Grant you admin rights, or
  • Have them complete the integration process using their admin account

Zoom meeting not appearing after saving event

Possible causes:

  • The event page hasn’t been visited yet (meetings are created on first page access)
  • Network delay in creating the meeting
  • Zoom API rate limits

Solutions:

  1. Wait a few seconds and refresh the event page
  2. Check that the Zoom integration is still connected in Host Settings
  3. If the issue persists after 30 seconds, try reconnecting Zoom

Possible causes:

  • Zoom integration has become disconnected
  • Zoom API is temporarily unavailable
  • Your Zoom account has reached meeting limits

Solutions:

  1. Check the integration status in Host Settings > Integrations
  2. Reconnect the Zoom integration
  3. Verify your Zoom account has available meeting capacity
  4. Try again in a few minutes if Zoom’s API is experiencing issues

Changes to event not reflected in Zoom meeting

Possible causes:

  • Update is queued and still processing (takes ~4 seconds per operation)
  • Network connectivity issues
  • Zoom API temporarily unavailable

Solutions:

  1. Wait 10-15 seconds and check again in your Zoom account
  2. For recurring events with many instances, updates may take several minutes to complete
  3. If changes don’t appear after 5 minutes, try editing the event again

Possible causes:

  • You don’t have Create events and edit event details permission
  • Meeting was manually deleted from Zoom but Feather still references it

Solutions:

  1. Verify you have the correct permissions with your organization admin
  2. Remove and re-add the Zoom meeting option in the event editor

”Start meeting as host” button not appearing

Possible causes:

  • You don’t have the required permissions
  • Zoom meeting hasn’t been created yet

Solutions:

  1. Verify you are the organization owner or have Check in guests permission
  2. Refresh the page to trigger meeting creation if needed
  3. Check that the Zoom integration is still connected

Possible causes:

  • Browser blocking the Zoom link
  • Zoom client not installed (for native client launch)
  • Meeting hasn’t been created yet

Solutions:

  1. Allow pop-ups for Feather in your browser
  2. Try opening the meeting in your browser instead of the native client
  3. Install the Zoom desktop or mobile app
  4. Refresh the page to ensure the meeting has been created

Some recurring event instances don’t have Zoom meetings

Solution: Visit the event page for each recurring instance, and the Zoom meeting will be automatically generated.

Bulk updates to recurring events taking too long

Section titled “Bulk updates to recurring events taking too long”

Expected behavior:

  • 10 events = ~40 seconds
  • 50 events = ~3-4 minutes
  • 100 events = ~6-7 minutes

Solution: Be patient and allow the queue to process. You can continue using Feather while updates are processing in the background.

If you continue to experience problems after trying these solutions:

  1. Check that you meet all the prerequisites for the integration
  2. Try completely disconnecting and reconnecting the Zoom integration
  3. Verify your Zoom account is in good standing at Zoom App Marketplace
  4. Contact Feather support with details about the issue, including:
    • What you were trying to do
    • Any error messages you received
    • Screenshots if applicable
    • Your organization name and the approximate time the issue occurred
